Golden mashed potatoes bring together the natural buttery flavor of Yukon Gold potatoes with the warmth of turmeric and the tangy richness of sharp white Cheddar. The result is a mash that’s both visually striking and deeply flavorful. This dish pairs effortlessly with roasted meats, hearty stews, or veggie mains, making it a versatile and crowd-pleasing addition to any table. The turmeric not only enhances the color but also adds a subtle earthiness that complements the cheese without overwhelming the potatoes’ natural sweetness.

- 1 cup shredded sharp white Cheddar
- 1 teaspoon turmeric
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder (optional)

Step 4
Add butter, milk (or cream), turmeric, and garlic powder. Mash until smooth and creamy.
Step 5
Stir in the shredded sharp white Cheddar while the potatoes are still hot so it melts evenly.
