Created by bartender Phil Ward in 2007 at New York City’s Death & Co., the Oaxaca Old-Fashioned has since become a modern classic. The drink highlights the earthy smokiness of mezcal while maintaining the approachable, rounded character of aged tequila. Served over a large ice cube and garnished with an orange twist, it’s a beautiful fusion of Mexican terroir and American cocktail tradition.
